A Winter Romance {Inspiration Board}

This is for all you winter brides right in the thick of it. A little slice of soft pinks, greys, metallics, and crystal gorgeousness. I wanted to change it up just a little and dive into the romance of winter. Just a little nudge of style for all those upcoming December/January nuptials. I've always thought of a winter wedding, with the possibilites of snow, ethereal styling, and touches of glamour, as being the ultimate fairy tale.

Turquoise and Peach Wedding Inspiration

I just love the color turquoise.  Its such a moody shade of blue.  It can be feminine, bold, beachy, whimsical or modern depending on the colors it's paired with and how it's applied.  I've decided to provide some whimsical and feminine turquoise inspiration by coordinating this shade with a girly hue of peach. Purple and Yellow wedding inspiration

What seems like an odd color combination at first, turns out to be quite the pairing.  To inspire out-of-the-box color combinations, here's a look at how purple and yellow can make a impact together. Top:  Cake, Centerpiece, Bridesmaid Dress

Hunger Games Inspiration

What are your thoughts on movie themed weddings?  With Hunger Games opening in just a week, I can't help but be inspired by all the buzz.  I'm not suggesting a costume wedding, but there are some key elements in the movie that make for great wedding motifs.  For example, this mocking bird design could be used across printed materials.  Strung DIY feathers make great escort cards and real feathers can be used as decor on place settings and your cake.

Green and White Inspiration

Yes, St. Patty's day is only a week away, but I wasn't even thinking of it when I first started collecting imagery for today's post.  Just a happy chance.  I was walking my pup, Simba, today and was captured by how vivid the greenery is right now.  Maybe it's the short alternate doses of rain and sun we've been getting, but everything is so green.  I just had to create a board around it.  Set against white, green looks exceptionally fresh for Spring.  And, of course, I just had to throw a nod to St. Patty's day with this fabulous Irish San Francisco trolly.  Are you feeling lucky yet?

Elegant Polka Dot Inspiration

I love patterns, especially stripes and polka dots for their graphic and pure quality.  However, polka dots are not often done in a traditional or classic aesthetic.  This week I wanted to demonstrate how polka dots can be used in an elegant way for a simply chic wedding design. Pairing pink, black, white and gold truly kept the look refined.  What do you think?  Ready to incorporate some dots into your wedding design? Bonus: there is a tutorial on how to make the dotted envelopes via the link below!

Nautical Inspiration Board

This weeks inspiration board is inspired by my husband and my close friends, Sloane and Samantha... Who, recently got engaged!  That's them in the pic. Aren't they a cute couple?! Both originally from Michigan, Sloane grew up sailing with his father on the great lake, while Samantha was raised in a small lake front town.  Their love for each other and the water blossomed when they moved across country to Laguna Beach, California.  There, Sloane lead all of us on fun sailboat excursions about the Pacific ocean.  Samantha and I had plenty of girl chats about how their "one-day" wedding would look, and there was no doubt it would have a nautical, yet elegant theme. As soon as I found out they were engaged, I was on the computer collecting inspiration.  I decided to put together this board dedicated to them and their sailing past.  Congratulations Sloane and Sam, this one's for you!
