Allure Wedding: Kate and AJ's Pretty Outdoor Fete

One of my very favorite weddings last year was featured on I Do Venues today.  I worked with LA couple Kate and AJ to plan their Northern California celebration for almost a year and I truly enjoyed every minute of it!  Their wedding at the Rengstorff House in Mountain View was on a gorgeous Fall day and it was everything we had envisioned.  Check out some of the beautiful photos by Gavin Farrington, and my description as seen on the I Do Venues post.

Kate and AJ wanted a traditional, classic, and laid back wedding. Their first priorities were fun and family, and they wanted to dine outside with candle light and strung lights that provided the ambiance. The historic Victorian The Rengstorff House in Mountain View provided the manicured lawns and brick patio for the outdoor ceremony and reception, The Other Woman catering company provided the strung IPLs and delicious gourmet BBQ and mac & cheese, and Kate and AJ hosted family and friends and plenty of kids on their big day. The overall look was fresh and pretty, with monochromatic white flowers and touches of clustered baby’s breath accenting the clean, crisp green grounds of the property. Gavin Farrington caught gorgeous golden light as the sun set over the water and reserve. The wedding was filled with hilarious and touching toasts, several servings of seconds, simple personal touches and more hugs, kisses, and high fives than I’ve ever seen before at a wedding. Kate and AJ were a dream to work with and they got their dream wedding!

A Wedding Planner's Happy Place

Hi!  I am nearing the end of my wedding season this year and I'm starting to review all of the beautiful pictures of my 2012 events.  I love looking through the albums that my photographers send me and I can't wait to share everything here!  For now, I have a little sneak peek of Kate and AJ's wedding at the Rengstorff House in Mountain View.  I coordinated and designed this wedding from start to finish and seeing Kate and AJ so happy was one of the highlights of my year.

Kate and AJ wrote their own vows, and there wasn't a dry eye on the lawn.  Their best friends toasted them during dinner and the laughs and tears started again.  It was truly a love-filled event and being a part of it all reminded me why I am a wedding planner.  Seeing couples take it all in is the best part of my job, and a part of my life I am so very grateful for.

I look forward to sharing more of Kate and AJ's beautiful wedding on my blog later in the year.  Stay tuned!

Sneak Peak: Casual and Fun Engagement Shoot

Hi!  I am so excited to share a sneak peak with you today!  Kate and AJ are a couple I am working with this year, getting married in September.  They are laid-back and quick to laugh, and so comfortable around each other.  Basically, they are adorable and I LOVE them.  I hooked them up with photographer Gavin Farrington and he recently did their engagement shoot in LA's Irvine Regional Park.  Dog Duke joined in on the fun, and here are a few of my faves!

I love how a great photographer can get such sweet pictures out of a couple that considers themselves 'camera shy'.  These are intimate and pretty, and really capture the kind of couple that Kate and AJ are.  You know, the kind that is totally crazy about each other!

Allure: 5th Week in Review

This week has been so busy; I feel like I barely have time to draft this post!  When it rains, it pours...true for work and 'real' life, I guess! Here's a little of what I've been up to this week:

1.  Big Day of Meetings:  On Saturday, my clients from LA came up for a visit and we were a wedding planning A-Team!  We met with Shawna Futagaki of Flower Divas, Kalani Germono for a hair and makeup trial, Gavin Farrington for a photography consultation, and then had a cupcake tasting and planning session at Frost Cupcake Factory in Downtown Campbell.  (Black Velvet = best cupcake ever!)  We got so much accomplished in the wedding-planning-department and had a ton of fun getting it done!  After a long day...I felt really great.  Confident, energized and grateful...it's a nice feeling! One of my favorite engagement shots by Gavin.  Look at that light!

2.  Pinterest!  I am always on the look out for inspiration to add to my Pinterest boards...Pinterest is now pivotal to my job as a wedding planner, and I'm addicted personally as well.  This week, I have posted a ton of pictures w notes for several clients.  My boards serve as a reference when I am talking to vendors, brainstorming design ideas, and planning styled shoots.  Kaella and I LOVE Pinterest.  I'm planning on posting specifically on Pinterest later...but for now, check out my boards and follow me if you want!  I'll see you out there, pinners!  (Tidbit: I coordinated Ben Silbermann's wedding, one of the brilliant founders of Pinterest!  Learn more about Ben and Pinterest here!)

3.  Allure on the Inspired Guide on Engaged & Inspired!  Check out our listing...we are in great company!

Now...on to the Oscars!  If the cable guy makes it out in time to fix our dish...womp womp...
