Yay! It's my Super Bowl! Let's get right down to it...here are my favorite Oscar looks for 2013 and a little bit about how I think it all relates to the wedding industry trends and fashion. Reese Witherspoon - Old Hollywood Hair. Amazing for black tie weddings and a glamorous bride or bridesmaid. This look is timeless and feminine--I love how it elevates a simple neckline or dress.
The moment for pastels and blushes is still upon us...Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams, Jessica Chastain, Octavia Spencer, Anne Hathaway, and Amanda Seyfried (to name a few) are all rocking the barely there shades. I predict more and more pale shades replacing white and ivory on wedding aisles!
Structured shoulders and waist lines, long sleeves, and sequins were also prominent on the red carpet this year. My favorite head to toe look of the Oscars was Jane Fonda in canary yellow Versace. She is 75, people! She is looking so polished and stylish...the dress is tailored to a T and I think she is simply stunning. Another one of my favorite looks was Naomi Watts in Armani. This dress looks made for her body. I love how daring and unique it is. Lastly, the most 'bridal' of Oscar looks was best actress winner Jennifer Lawrence in the voluminous (and almost heavy looking...) Christian Dior gown. I loved her hair and makeup, the shade of ballet pink on her pale skin, and the backwards necklace. (And those lashes! Her makeup artist should get an award.) Overall, a good, but not over-the-top year, in my opinion. I'm sure we'll see some of these fashion trends on brides this year, but I want to see more risk! More wow! More!
